The Deans of Soul (Northcote SC 20th Birthday Celebration!)
with Candice Lorrae + Pirrutu & Band
Northcote Social Club (Northcote, VIC)
Saturday, 26 July 2025 8:00 pm
NSC is turning 20 and we’re throwing one helluva party!
To celebrate two decades, we’re rolling out 20 Gigs for 20 Years — a huge birthday series running through July and August, stacked with some of our all-time favourites.
The Deans of Soul are bringing their signature blend of smooth vocals, Motown grooves and R&B swagger to the NSC stage. Celebrating 21 years as a band, they’re joining the party with a set full of heart, harmony and hip-shaking soul.
The Deans of Soul Winner of the 2014 Victorian Age Music Awards for Best Indigenous Act. Formerly known as The Grenadines, nominated for “Band of the Year” in the prestigious Deadly Awards in 2007.
The Deans of Soul, now in its 21st year, are the sound of modern, original Melbourne Soul. They merge old school soul and funk with elements of cool roots, rhythm, and blues.
With velvet smooth vocals, sweet harmonies, soaring heartbreak guitar, deep Motown bass grooves and hip-shaking rhythms, they combine soul, funk and R & B influences to create original songs of emotion and of the heart.
Come raise a glass and help us celebrate 20 years of great gigs and good yarns at NSC — we wouldn’t want to do it without you!
Plus, snag a ticket to one of our birthday series shows and you could win a double gig pass, pub voucher & merch!
“These guys are great - I’d book them for everything if I could!”
Adele Denison - Festival Producer, St Kilda Festival
“They have soul and they really connect with the audience.”
Luke Murray - Festival Director, Big Fella Festival
The Deans “…make great music and I’m glad the City of Melbourne could support them.”
Avril McQueen – Arts Grants Program Manager, City of Melbourne
Our show is being held on the lands of the Wurundjeri People and we wish to acknowledge them as the Traditional Owners of this land we are gathered on. We also pay our respects to their Elders, past and present, and Aboriginal Elders of other communities that may join us for our show.
THIS SHOW IS STRICTLY 18+
Northcote Social Club strives to create a safe space that everyone can enjoy.
