Kick those Monday blues to the curb at Social Sanctuary – your weekly night of free live music at NSC. We've lined up a stellar roster of your fave local artists and some exciting new talents breezing through town!
This week Wild At Heart take over NSC and present a Monday night showcase to bring you some of Melbourne's most underrated artists at an accessible venue, all for the price of zero dollars :)
Wild At Heart is a community of songwriters and artists who navigate visible and invisible disabilities, mental health challenges, and neuro-diversity, and in this excellent lineup of rockers and rollers, we are delivering a small selection of the incredible and unique music that our artists Gwot Lik and Minky Lush have produced. Then to bring the house down, headlining we have local pub rockers (with feeling): Skink Tank.
Skink Tank are three mates who like lizards and playing music together. Their style is punchy, defiantly optimistic and full of life, as they explore the wimpy side of pub rock.
Gwot Lik are a rock and roll band that brings thunderous riffs, driving drums and powerful vocals. Their name is translated from the Mandarin to mean Bone Power, and you by seeing them live you know exactly why. They have just released their self titled debut EP on all streaming services.
Minky Lush is an eclectic artist whose music blends a variety of genres, creating a sound that defies easy categorization. Describing their style as “all over the shop”, front person Carla draws inspiration from a wide variety of music and has been compared with music as broad ranging as Pink Floyd to Courtney Barnett to Nancy Sinatra.
Social Sanctuary is proud to be sponsored by Mountain Goat.
Our show is being held on the lands of the Wurundjeri People and we wish to acknowledge them as the Traditional Owners of this land we are gathered on. We also pay our respects to their Elders, past and present, and Aboriginal Elders of other communities that may join us for our show.
THIS SHOW IS STRICTLY 18+
Northcote Social Club strives to create a safe space that everyone can enjoy.
Crowd surfing & dangerous behaviour will result in removal from the venue.
