Kick those Monday blues to the curb at Social Sanctuary – your weekly night of free live music at NSC. We've lined up a stellar roster of your fave local artists and some exciting new talents breezing through town!
This week Assteroid, The Mundaynes and Power Tools are stopping by for a show.
Assteroid return to the stage this summer to rock your socks right off into space. ✨🛸 The grungy four-piece released two singles and a B-side cover in 2023, and are preparing to drop their debut EP this year. Pairing poppy hooks with 90s alt-rock sounds, they deliver songs heavy with nostalgia and sprinkled with tasty licks and harmonies.
The Mundaynes are a post punk new wave outfit inspired by the likes of Shame, Talking Heads, Yard Act and early INXS. Formed at the beginning of 2024, they gained attention due to their high energy performances and are set to release their debut EP this month which is sure to cement them as one of NAARM’s most compelling up and coming acts.
Power Tools is a minimalist post punk duo born in Yarraville. It is currently spending its infancy in Preston, though we are unsure the speed of its growth.
Social Sanctuary is proud to be sponsored by Mountain Goat.
Our show is being held on the lands of the Wurundjeri People and we wish to acknowledge them as the Traditional Owners of this land we are gathered on. We also pay our respects to their Elders, past and present, and Aboriginal Elders of other communities that may join us for our show.
