Jordie Lane & Band (Northcote SC 20th Birthday Celebration! - Matinee)
Northcote Social Club (Northcote, VIC)
Saturday, 16 August 2025 2:00 pm
NSC is turning 20 and we’re throwing one helluva party!
To celebrate two decades, we’re rolling out 20 Gigs for 20 Years — a huge birthday series running through July and August, stacked with some of our all-time favourites.
We’re stoked that our ol' friend Jordie Lane is making his way back for the celebrations. With regular shows here each year, Jordie’s been part of the NSC family for a long time. Previously he’s joined forces with Liz Stringer for their legendary Christmas shows, and this time he’s bringing his signature sound and storytelling over 2 huge shows!
Nashville-based, Melbourne born folk artist Jordie Lane, returns to Australia to celebrate not one but 3 birthdays. Along with NSC’s 20th year, we’ll also be cheers’ing to the 1st birthday of Jordie’s acclaimed new album ‘Tropical Depression’, and…Jordie’s own birthday.
A full band show featuring some special guest favourites from Melbourne’s amazing music community, this will be a birthday bash not to be missed.
With the album debuting at No #1 on the ARIA Australian Country Chart, Lane will return to local stages after a series of sold out shows in 2024, and additions to many best-of-lists and mainstage appearances at Woodford and Port Fairy Folk festivals.
This new collection of songs and live band show wanders near the intersection of Americana and 60s-inspired folk while sticking strong to his roots storytelling crowd favourites such as ‘Black Diamond’ and ‘I Could Die Looking At You’ . Packed with humour, wit and sharp social commentary, Tropical Depression tackles a broad range of topics, from facing extreme weather to Lane’s own mental health journey.
A seasoned road warrior, Jordie Lane has shared the stage with legendary acts like Billy Bragg, Gotye, Old Crow Medicine Show, The Moody Blues, Neko Case among others, and has found his place as one of Australia’s modern day storytelling greats!
Come raise a glass and help us celebrate 20 years of great gigs and good yarns at NSC — we wouldn’t want to do it without you!
Plus, snag a ticket to one of our birthday series shows and you could win a double gig pass, pub voucher & merch!
Our show is being held on the lands of the Wurundjeri People and we wish to acknowledge them as the Traditional Owners of this land we are gathered on. We also pay our respects to their Elders, past and present, and Aboriginal Elders of other communities that may join us for our show.
FAMIILY FRIENDLY (ALL CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT)
Northcote Social Club strives to create a safe space that everyone can enjoy.
Crowd surfing & dangerous behaviour will result in removal from the venue.
