Rod Coote's new studio EP 'Wander' was written as field notes on the road while recently touring his music through Europe, United Kingdom, Ireland for the first time and then recorded the songs by the Byron Bay coast in collaboration with his longtime producer and internationally acclaimed folk artist Garrett Kato (Ziggy Alberts, Riley Pearce). The Naarm/Melbourne based singer-songwriter will be performing these heartfelt indie folk songs for a one-off hometown show at the Northcote Social Club on 12th June 2026 with special guests.
Rod is a breath of fresh air to the Australian indie folk scene supporting acts like Ziggy Alberts, Bears Den, Steph Strings, Amistat, The Dreggs, Pete Murray, Kim Churchill, Salt Tree alongside his own headline tours across Australia, Europe and the United Kingdom. He has also recently performed on festival line ups nationally and abroad at Between The Trees' (UK), 'Surfana (EU) and BIGSOUND (AU).
From humble beginnings busking on Bourke Street in Melbourne to now his music garnered over 10 million plays online in 180 countries, Rod's salt of the earth approach of sharing sincerity through his heart warming songwriting has built a devoted community of listeners and created a safe place for connection and comfort through his earnest music.
