Kick those Monday blues to the curb at Social Sanctuary – your weekly night of free live music at NSC. We've lined up a stellar roster of your fave local artists and some exciting new talents breezing through town!

This week Safety Club, Matahara and koady are stopping by for a show.

SAFETY CLUB is a duo from Brisbane, Australia composed of Ronnie Sinclair and Shan. They make rap-ish music that rips its way through different genres - from soundcloud-type filth and future-folk music to bedroom pop bangers and RnB, they fold in influences from across just about every place you could imagine. Their live shows are known for being high-octane from start to end with crowd shenanigans and mosh pit activity proving a certainty. They have recently played support slots for similar favourites of the chronically online: Tommy Cash, Yung Gravy, George Clanton and Hobo Johnson, (among others).

Matahara is the solo project helmed by Marissa Yudinar (she/her) - an independent artist from Naarm via Jakarta. The 24-year-old artist creates forward-thinking bedroom pop that lives in a world of its own and gives light and warmth to everyone around her.

koady’s music journey began out of necessity, creating soundtracks for his short films. His debut single, prozac, blurs the line between genres, featuring everything from lofi guitars reminiscent of Alex G to classic jungle-esque breaks. koady delivers a captivating live experience, seamlessly balancing Bon Iver-like introspection with raw, shoegaze-infused soundscapes. His DIY ethos extends beyond music through Koady Miro, where he delves into creative direction and filmmaking, adding even more depth to his artistic vision.

Social Sanctuary is proud to be sponsored by Mountain Goat.

Our show is being held on the lands of the Wurundjeri People and we wish to acknowledge them as the Traditional Owners of this land we are gathered on. We also pay our respects to their Elders, past and present, and Aboriginal Elders of other communities that may join us for our show.
