This week Comedy, Pollyman and Body Tax are stopping by for a show.
No strangers to Australia’s independent music scene, COMEDY was formed in 2024 when Andy (AM Reruns, Nat Vazer) began swapping songs with Francis (Francis Glass Band). What started as a remote experiment soon evolved; one song, two songs, before they knew it an album was taking shape. With a catalogue of tracks forming, Nick was recruited on drums and Citizen Zane (Signal Chain, GRUPS) was brought in on bass/Fender VI. COMEDY's debut 7" record, "L.A. PERFUME" / "HATE MACHINE" was released in March 2026. "Melancholic, yet full of so much rock’n’roll vigor that it’s gratifying and energetic" - Maximum Rocknroll. "Swings in with proto-punk bravado, every bit sounding like the ghost of Television" - Austin Town Hall.
George Carroll Wilson's glam-rock-power-pop solo sonic onslaught POLLYMAN delivers unstoppable hooks and uncoppable looks with a sizzling, tantalising one-two combo of rock and roll and pop from the past, present and future. With well oiled hips, electrical licks and pipes of platinum, Pollyman is muscled up by a dazzling and deadly 4 piece ensemble that’ll love you and leave you wanting more, more, more! Pollyman is planning to release new music in 2026, so stay tuned and turn on. Pollyman.
From the scorched backstreets of Melbourne to the haunted stillness of regional Australia, Body Tax emerges as the new incarnation of Jackson Greatz, best known as electronic producer GREETINGS, now turning his gaze inward with a guitar in hand and a heavy heart on his sleeve. Drawing on the sonic grit of rust rock, post-punk, and Australiana storytelling, this new project blends slow-burning heartbreak with bleak humour, dreamy melodies, and the raw poetry of emotional reckoning. These are songs written in the aftermath of parties that ended badly, relationships that disintegrated in the morning light, and memories that still rattle in the walls. Inspired by the likes of Rowland S. Howard, RVG, Fontaines D.C., and the ghosts of broken-down share houses, Body Tax finds beauty in the mess, comfort in sadness, and hope in the honest telling of it all. The soundtrack for leaving the city, facing your own reflection, and dancing slowly in the ruins is playing out live with his band Body Tax in your town soon.
Social Sanctuary is proud to be sponsored by Mountain Goat.
