Kick those Monday blues to the curb at Social Sanctuary – your weekly night of free live music at NSC. We've lined up a stellar roster of your fave local artists and some exciting new talents breezing through town!
This week Ebi Nori and the Phantom Fingers, Waxman and Total Care are stopping by for a show.
Ebi Nori & The Phantom Fingers is a Melbourne-based Australian band known for their blend of genres like post-rock, goth-rock, alt-country inspired songwriting , and noise. Their music combines harsh guitar tones with a unique "noise and menace" aesthetic.. The band features Ebi Nori (Phoebe Parsons) on guitar and vocals, along with , Harry Leggatt (guitar), Jack Eden (bass), and Sam Hunt (Drums), Thomas Edwards (Synths).
It's all energy and not a single moment of it felt underwhelming or predictable. It's post-hardcore with considered songwriting, fun hooks, heaviness, noise and blistering intensity. Waxman inhabit the super-position between the primal and the cerebral, simultaneously indulging themselves and the audience in equal parts. Controlled chaos with dual vocals - get around it.
One of the newest additions to the scene, Total Care is the moniker of Daniel Wright, former frontman of The Rollercanes. Having just released their latest single ‘Leaving’ Total Care will be stopping by Northcote Social Club with a fresh new lineup bringing an energetic set of vibrant riffs, thumping drums and hooks you’ll have a hard time forgetting.
Social Sanctuary is proud to be sponsored by Mountain Goat.
Our show is being held on the lands of the Wurundjeri People and we wish to acknowledge them as the Traditional Owners of this land we are gathered on. We also pay our respects to their Elders, past and present, and Aboriginal Elders of other communities that may join us for our show.
