Yes, you read it right. Returning from their Sydney Opera House onslaught (2026), The Sonobots prepare to take Melbourne, starting with the Northcote Social Club.
Created by Hullick, the evening with headline The Sonobots with Hullick and the BOLT Ensemble Chamber Ensemble. This is 21st Century technologized culture. What might a robotic string ensemble sound like? How do live musicians and robotic sound machines interface?
Boasting a highly industrial visual aesthetic, The Sonobots reimagine ways of making sound – sometimes elegant; sometimes raw.
An award winning Australian composer and musician, Hullick’s sound world is enormous, dynamic and cinematic. Technology, surround sound and the sparkle of wicked imagination flow through his sonic worlds. Since 2002 the BOLT Ensemble, has premiered decades of Hullick’s chamber and orchestral works.
For this event several new works by Hullick will be premiered with the masterful BOLT musicians.

This is a history making evening where the interabilities agenda elegantly elides with assistive auditory technologies, thereby creating a new world order that is both creatively accessible and at the leading edge of machine cultures.
