Kid Sam stroll back into our lives for a rare gig this September at the Northcote Social Club.
First performing at small venues in Melbourne's inner north in 2006, their debut (and only) self-titled record was the cult classic of the late-00s.
Nominated for a J Award and Australian Music Price, their affective melodies (‘We’re Mostly Made of Water’) alongside peculiar narratives and degenerative percussion were minimalist anthems for this period in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.
They have performed at Meredith Music Festival, Laneway, Southbound and Falls, and toured with Daniel Johnston on his only Australian tour.
After opening for Grizzly Bear at the Palais Theatre in 2010 they decided to have a break, which ended up becoming a 14 year hiatus.
The band have recently been arranging new material and have plans to get back into the studio together for the first time since 2008.
A rare event, not to be missed.
