Kick those Monday blues to the curb at Social Sanctuary – your weekly night of free live music at NSC. We've lined up a stellar roster of your fave local artists and some exciting new talents breezing through town!
This week Sister Paul (JPN), Cold Regards and The Cars That Ate Paris are stopping by for a show.
Kooky Tokyo underground institution Sister Paul blend early to mid-70s Bowie, T Rex, Roxy Music etc with Tokyo underground cool to produce an authentically original and catchy sound.
So taken by them were UK 70s proto punkers Doctors Of Madness that Sister Paul became their rhythm section for that band's reformation tour which included playing London's legendary punk venue, the 100 CLUB!
Cold Regards are a trans-Tasman, Naarm / Melbourne based, Coldwave duo. Moody Pop Casiotone with snappy guitar licks, in the realm of Icehouse
The Cars That Ate Paris are a Naarm / Melbourne post-punk band that love bugs, and channelling sounds from the Seaview Scene, with a nod to very early Go-Betweens, UK DIY indie etc.
Social Sanctuary is proud to be sponsored by Mountain Goat.
Our show is being held on the lands of the Wurundjeri People and we wish to acknowledge them as the Traditional Owners of this land we are gathered on. We also pay our respects to their Elders, past and present, and Aboriginal Elders of other communities that may join us for our show.
Northcote Social Club strives to create a safe space that everyone can enjoy.
Crowd surfing & dangerous behaviour will result in removal from the venue.
